Default CEL 67 Gone Without Resetting the ECU

My CEL came on last week telling me my cat had gone bad. Driving to work today, the CEL turned off by itself. Can anybody explain that?

I would go to the dealer, even if the car isn't under warranty. This happened to my Si(15k miles past warranty) right before I sold it, so I took it to the dealer. They said they would replace the cat for free(listed for almost 1K!) and if the mechanic messed up the threads on my o2 sensor while he was removing the cat, they would replace it for free. Also a couple of guys that have tegs around here have got Acura to do the same, even though their cars were out of warranty. I would try it if I were you just b/c I can't stand seeing a CEL
