could it be the clutch or the tranny? the engine sounds really strong but i can't chirp 2nd
. i think the tranny might be a cx tranny. it says p20 on it.

that was wat i was thinking, any suggestions on brands of clutches? i saw an exedy clutch complete for $99 on ebay. is that any good?
exedy clutches on ebay are nothing more then stock replacement or OEM pieces.
invest in organic sport clutch (exedy/ACT/ and few others) (extra $120-150) and you be happier overall.
not sure why its important for you to chirp in 2nd. its not a measure of how strong or powerful motor is.

damn i was hoping this was going to have a funny joke inside. i wish i never lost traction. so all i have to do is a d15 swap??? i never thought of that. your problem is that you think you have something capable of racing, and you dont. youre just beating it up. poor car. and i thought the D15 sohc vtec had like 92 hp, you said d15, right? what car do you have???

Clutch is toast yo.
Yes, exedy is one of the leading makers of stock replacement clutches. Some genius is feeding off the inorance of the masses and making a fortune selling those clutches on ebay.
I do highly suggest the exedy organic race clutch, it's very nice, and almost stock feel.
I'm personally using an ACT clutch right now, very pleasurable.
Also, did you dyno that car, or are you just making an estimate?
Big difference.

Why would you want to?
Dropping your clutch and revving hard enough to break traction when you're already moving like that puts IMMENSE amounts of strain on every part of the driveline between the engine and the wheels.
And it's POINTLESS. There is nothing good about chirping your tires when you shift. And I'm sure it's good to you because you wanna show off the monstrous powr of your engine, but it really just makes you look like a dumbass who doesn't know anything about driving.
Your clutch is the weakest link between the engine and the wheels. That's why it's the first thing to go.
But, you watch. You buy a stronger clutch, and go ahead and chirp second and maybe even third for a month or two.
I guarantee you that the next weakest driveline component will break. It might be your axles. I don't know.
But it WILL break.
And it will probably be more expensive than the clutch.

i got the motor with ecu, tranny, and shift linkage and axles which i didn't need for 650. my car originally was an automatic dx but we converted it to manual when we dropped the motor. we should have replaced the clutch before we dropped the motor
i had a erick's racing chipped p28 but i traded someone for a virgin p28 which i'm using right now. oh yeah and the motor has stage 3 vtec--whatever that means???

I have not trouble chirping second and I have had the oem clutch for a while, i have noticeed that the chirps arnt as loud or long they used to be so it probably is the clutch....
I can chirp my sol up to fourth into fifth going like eighty, with a new uhh stock clutch, Idon't know how I did it, but I loose races when I start chirping, It's like a burn out, cool as hell but it sucks for fastness
Having trouble keeping traction with my b16 turbo. My second gear has smoke rolling off the tires. Damn what do I do? Theres your answer.
yea, me too.... not too familiar on the d15. but somebody earlier said that chirping the wheels isn't a display of power... umm, yea. whatever. so when my z6 can't keep traction no matter how hard you try... umm... all the way through 3rd gear that is, does that show how much power it doesn't have?
obviously it is.. if you don't have the power, you won't be barking tires. granted it is also a lack of traction but. people are raging b/c it is SOHC...heh. i'd put MY SOHC against most b series POS people run these days... i hate people that try and rag on a car bc it doesn't have a b series.... most people think they are the **** cuz they have a b16. i can't speak for many others... but b16 is the biggest POS engine on its own... only good for turbo.just a torque robbing *****. people... don't knock the d series until u have seen its full potential...
