for your f4i owners, how is it?
I have my choice narrow down to the f4i. there is a 2001, and few 2002's in the showroom, all new. the 02's are $300 canadian more.
how do you like your f4i? any of you regret it and wish you have gotten a gsxr or r6?
is the fi system help starting in cold mornings just above freezing point with out the choke?
was there any mechanical differences between the 01 and 02 model?
I don't want to spend more money on the 600RR because i can't spend that much.
I had a ninja 500 and I sold it last fall searching for a new bike, but i have been putting it off til now.

Great bike......prolly the most comfy 600 out there. I haven't rode the 600RR yet so I really couldn't tell you much as far as power delivery difference. Very similar ergos between the two. I personally would spring the extra cash for the RR. Just my two cents
you should be able to make a killing on a new 02. If not I wouldn't bother buying new. I used to think the f4i was a very good bike but since I got the zx6r I have to say the f4i ergos are total crap. They're not terrible but once I got to hop back and forth between the two the kawi ergos are over tenfold better. Most particularly the seat is as hard as a bench and the gas tank will only fit the stomach/chest of an obese (even by american standards) rider or perhaps a rider w/ C cup pecs. I do like the f4i grips though. The footpegs are a bit low and forward on the f4i but you shouldn't notice on the street. One important thing to realize is that the f4i is an all around middleweight sportbike... the newer RR is very race oriented as the other manufacturers went to earlier. After saying all that I still love riding the f4i but the zx6r got more done for less. And I'm not just talking performance on paper. And yes, cold weather starts are uneventful w/ FI. An untrained monkey could do it while it would require a highly trained monkey to properly start up a carb'd bike in the cold. Oh yea, the clock is cool
Thanks for the replies.
I am not a very experienced rider yet, so an all around bike will be good for few years. I know the seats are hard because i rode my friend's 01 for few times. I actually learned how to ride from my cousin's 99 f4, and I like the riding position much better than my ninja 500.
there other reason for choosing the f4i was the price. the 01 is for $8699 and the 02's are $8999 canadian (msrp is $11399) they are all brand new.
however, I am leaning towards the 01 because it's white/red, it is the color I always wanted. dose anyone if there are mechanical differences between the 01 and 02's?
Thanks again.

I like it very well. The seat isn't the greatest but oh well. I am pretty tall guy and sometimes the bike seems kinda small for me. Other than those 2 complaints, I have no problems.
i just sold my '01 f4i and i enjoyed it quite a bit. i liked the fact that for commuting, i wasn't so far down that i was unformfortable. if you ever ride an R1, then jump to an f4i, you'll feel the difference.. the handlebars are much much lower than on the f4i.
i've heard the 600RR is supposidly much more sporty than the previous f4's, and f4i's. i enjoyed my f4i, and was sad to see it go. i just didn't have as much time to ride as i wanted anymore and couldn't justify the garage space.
