im about to get a 92 cx and i'm debating whether i should go with the B16 or Ls. i think the Ls has more torque which means more fun for daily driving, but i'm a sucker for vtec so i'm considering a b16. my goal is to one day hit 13's. which motor do u guys think i should go with?

 

Ls with b16 transmission

all you would need is a a DIY turbo kit for 13's

 

i have the b18b1 in my 92 cx, one of my roommates is doing the b16a3 in his 92 vx this month, i'll let you know the difference. I always wanted to know.

 

Slant Six.............IMO i'd go with the B16...You could always go Ls-vtec.

 

same thing with the b18b, when going lsvtec

where do you think the ls comes from in the term lsvtec

 

id go w/ LS simply because i have one. plus its cheaper than b16. and just by adding a turbo you're in the 13 sec range. $4000 in parts and labor makes your car 13 secs. think about it

 

If your talking to me, it's much cheaper to go B16... then jump to a ls-vtec...You already have the head and all other components...not to mention a far better tranny.It's just a matter of picking up a 1.8 shortblock...and those are always available. Don't tell me where it's from....i was just stating that it's just an option...

 

or turbo theb16 for the same cost ls and b16 aren't that far off in price.

 

if you go ls get a better tranny...but if your going ls might as well go b20...my brother has b20 w/si trans and it kicks *** with no vtec...

 

go with the LS...it's a bigger displacement than the B16 which means more whp...

 

so vtec is not always best???
