refinishing Polished lips on my wheels...need advice
I bought a set of old school wheels that have a polished lip. There are oxidation on the lips so I used aircraft paint remover to remove the clearcoat. I used a scotch brite pad, then 800, 1000, 1500 grit sandpaper, then I used Blue Magic to polish it up. It looks decent, I was just wondering what did you guys do to finish it up? I bought a set of 3M polishing wheels but didn't get a chance to try it out. Do you guys think I should just do the hand sanding (maybe go to a higher grit before polishing the wheels) or try out the polishing wheels that is used with a drill?
Have anyone try to spray a layer of clearcoat over the lip to keep the shine, or just polish it up once in a while?
Share your experience, if you don't mind. Thanks.
