Default My Bling Bling Engine pics!

this is the cleanest my engine will ever be! This is how to put a motor in without a cherry picker, I wouldn't do it anyother way!!! Check out the homemade crossmember too!!

Acutally I tried it on my last rebuild since I didn't have a cherry picker. Its the same amount of work. I'll probably do it this way from now on.

Actually on some cars you have to remove the entire front suspension -as one- to get a new engine in.. I'm talking about Peugeot 205's.. So it's no so odd as it seems

205 T16 engine swap (200hp in 1875lbs chassis)

Bah...Cherry pickers own me. You cant just swing a car around to 'adjust it' mid swap like you can with a picker.

i see it this way..
would i rather: remove bumper, radiator support, crossmember, lower car, then move engine in, and all that

or

push a cherry picker in, lower the engine., bolt it in , and go... u avoid all the hassle of removing and installing stuff.. at least u dont have to install all that crap back in....

IMO cherry picker rules! so much easier if u know how to do it... i can yank an engine in 5 minutes into place with a CP.. and got fottage to prove it... just dont know ho to make a vid off it....

bottom line... avoid xtra work....

i started doing it without a cherry picker simply because i don't have room to move one around. and all that i remove extra is my radiator and crossmember and radius rods. anytime i've put a motor in w/ the cherry picker i usually take the radiator out anyways. to each his own. i just like it my way!

This swap I'm painting my engine bay (When ever it gets nice out), whats the best way to put the motor in without scratching the bay up? The last 4 times I've done it with engine / tranny through the top with all mounts attatched, it's usually a struggle but it gets done in the end.

until you break the TPS connector on the back of the manifold.

and you ever try putting a b series in with a cherry picker??? talk about an extreme angle to put that thing in...

Wish I would've thought of that method when I was doing swaps, maybe I should've just bought a hoist for the money I spent renting them!!!!
