Default OBD1 wiring Gods>>>> Need alittle Help..

I was in the process of re wiring my car for obd1 and The only thing that kinda seemed foggy was the Dist. wiring. For Instance.... In the doc. that I attached the guy mentioned that if you keep the "CYP""CKP""TDC" colors on the wires the same, you would need to switch them on the dist side.
So in tern, he suggests keeping the wires color the same and changing at dist. But why I ask? Do I need to do that?

That is switched to match colors (what he does)
P13........... PM6.... Desc......... P13........ PM6
B11------->B10 CYP-->CKP P org 3---->org
B15------->C1 CKP-->CYP P blu/grn-->blu/grn
B12------->B12 CYP-->CKP G wht------>wht
B16------->C2 CKP-->CYP G blu/yel-->blu/yel
B13------->C3 TDC-->TDC P org/blu-->org/blu
B14------->C4 TDC-->TDC G wht/blu-->wht/blu

This isnt switched.. In Hopes of not messing w/Dizzy
P13 ........PM6.... Desc......... P13..... PM6
B11------>C1 CYP-->CYP P org3-->blu/grn
B15------>B10 CKP-->CKP P blu/grn-->org
B12------>C2 CYP-->CYP G wht-->blu/yel
B16------>B12 CKP-->CKP G blu/yel-->wht
B13------>C3 TDC-->TDC P org/blu-->org/blu
B14------>C4 TDC-->TDC G wht/blu-->wht/blu

I wired it like the last conf. wire color not matching., I was wondering if anyone might be able to spread some light on this topic.. Any help you could offer would be really cool. Thanks Again

What distributor? P13 isn't that a Prelude? Anyways, for a B-series you must match all the wires to the stock harness (Si)
In my case I have an LS, my Stock Si harness matches all the wires from the LS distributor except one wire. This wire would be the famous two white wires. You switch them until the car starts ( only 2 ways).

Good Luck.

Ya , p13 - H22a, I put one in my crx. non obd to obd1, and yes there is a dist. the configuration of the wires does matter when intail one is the cyp and the other ckp.
The question was if I wire them alike will I have to change the wiring in my Dizzy.
And just the basic assurance that Im approaching this in the correct mannor.

When I did my obd1 convert, all I did at the dist was color match the wires to their corresponding color.

The easiest way to handle this is to not look at which wire does what on the pinouts and just wire the same color straight from the ECU plug to the distributer. In other words, connect (say) the orange/blue wire on the 1992-1995 ECU plug to the orange/blue wire on the 1988-1991 ECU plug. And then place the pin connected to the orange/blue wire on the 1988-1991 engine harness in the 1992-1995 distributer plug where the pin connected to the orange/blue wire on the 1992-1995 engine harness went. The only time this doesn't work is with the ignitor wire. The ignitor wire is a white wire on the 1988-1991 engine harness but yellow/green on the 1992-1995 harness. This wire can be differentiated from the other white wire by the fact that it is fatter.

So I wired it the wrong way, where as I should have kept the wires all the same color, and where the wires come out of the fire wall and connect to the engine plugs, thats where I should make the change.
Or.. Connect color to color,
I guess I just dont see why I need to change the configuration on the dizzy. Its late.. The info came from you origionally, and I dont doubt what you told me, I guess I just need to look @ it tom. Thanks fro All your help.

B12------->B12 CYP-->CKP G wht------>wht
B16------->C2 CKP-->CYP G blu/yel-->blu/yel
B13------->C3 TDC-->TDC P org/blu-->org/blu
B14------->C4 TDC-->TDC G wht/blu-->wht/blu

that is the easiest ways to do it. That way you can just depin the disrtibutor plug and repin gthe new plug just matching wire colors. That is how all my OBD conversion harnesses are wired and it works like a champ.

So infact i should wire color for color and change the configuration in the dizzy on the run day. But what puzzles me is why do I have to change it in the dizzy, My way of thinking is When it was in the lude the harness diddent need to be changed, but then again all Im using is my car is the stock wires as extenders to the plugs on my engine. Keep in mind that Im not gonna use my si harness and lace it on, When I got my motor , the H22 engine harness was already intacked. ( both male and female ) so whatim gonna do is hard wire the p13 plugs(ecu side) into my pm6 clips in car, and then cut my old si harness, and connect them to the H22 clips(5). Ya Im still confused on why the change is needed, but I guess I'll just play hit or miss. Could I **** anything up if I wires it wrong?

So if you were in my shoes you would wire color for color despite what the desc. is and with doing that It should not work, but once I switch the wires on the dizzy I t should be good to go? Thankls for all of yalls help, Im trying......
