Default Stupid Question not exactly tech but you guys would know....

I was wondering if any of you guys shipped out a head or bought a complete head, ie intake manifold etc all that stuff. How was it packaged?? or how did you package it so everything was cool?

Thanks in advance guys.

I have only shipped locally (i.e. Put it in the trunk drive over and drop it off)

I would suggest getting foam inserts for the bottom sides and top of a box that will fit the head.

Ship the IM seperate.

double box it...

pack the stuff in a box a few inches bigger than the pile of stuff, after wrapping the stuff in bubble wrap or placing in packing peanuts.
drop that box (taped shut) into a bigger box filled with packing peanuts.

the double boxes with packing peanuts in between are much better at avoiding damage to your parts, even if it adds to weight and size of the package.

i had mine sitting for a while, so the oil drained off but all the ones without oil i had dipped in soda acid, and cleaned off that way, then i used lots of bubble wrap and called it a day. Tortex was happy i'd say
