look alike or fake products....
I was just wondering what the general consensus is regarding less than authentic items? I mean, there is an obvious split on things like Rota wheels, some people think no prob, since theyre light and cheap and strong, and others think why roll fake ****. I myself have been poking around on ebay and other sites, and see some pretty good looking imatations(?), and are considering some items. For example, I love Mugen, yet I cannot and will not spend $800 for a valve cover, I wouldnt however mind $200 for the look a like, the difference i feel is...I will not be competeing in shows, i will not be saying "this is the genuine thing", it is more of a personal satisfaction thing...of course engine parts - pistons, rods, etc, you spend more for quality, but for simple dress up items? it just doesnt make sense...just my .02$
i don't know, I think it looks pretty nice, I may not even do it, I just think it would be a nice finishing touch after a complete swap, and all the performance stuff has been done. I've always wanted mugen since i started back in 91, but could never afford it, I still can't really afford it, but I do like how it looks, lame yes, but hey...
