My type R is for sale... Pricing Question
My type R is for sale. It sucks that I have to sell it, but I need cash to buy a home and all my other cars are leased through my company, but I own the R. It is a mint condition 2000 fbp with 22k miles, nearly all stock (painted calipers and tint are the only mods), clear Carfax, all records and oil receipts, and no crashes. I looked on AutoTrader and initially came up with $22k based on other similar type R's for sale. A few people offered me around $20k for the car, but I am not sure how firm those offers were (seemed to depend on parents, selling other cars, etc.).
I am trying to buy a home, and I need to sell the car, so I am looking for input on what the car is really worth. I want to price it fairly so it will actually sell, but obviously make as much on it as it is worth. Has anyone bought or sold a similar car recently? Any input on pricing? I just dropped the price to $20,500 in hopes that it will sell quickly at that price. Does that sound about right? I know Edmunds says it is worth a LOT less, but I have never seen prices that reflect their numbers, so I am looking for actual transaction info here.

That is fair, cause even if someone throws 500 bucks less might as well take it, and call it a day. Thats a fair price especially for used. And they dont make them anymore cause of the RSX

If $20,500 is fair for an R with 22K miles, then what about a FBP 2000 ITR completely stock/garaged with 6,000 miles on it. I would be thinking in about the $22,500 range.

I'm selling mine for $22k with 10k miles on it. I'm including a lot of extras with it though. I've had some good interest so far. I hope to have an ad on Autotrader.com soon.
