All B-series diffs are same except 94-up Gsr/ type R.

The B16/LS quaiffe will not fit a 94 -up GSR/type R tranny. They have a different bolt pattern on the ring gear.

wouldn't you just be able to replace the ring gear?

Yes, a simple GS-R/ITR ring gear replacement is all you will need to use that LSD.
