I have a 99 civic hx... you know how on si's they have the removable honda piece. well my question is: Is it better to buy the si grill and install it or ust go to work on the one i have and remove it. And of someone has one for sale please let me know... Travis

Si grille will not bolt up, you either need to make one yourself or buy a $40 type-r fake grille from some internet shops. then you'll need to paint it.

 

uhhh... 99-00 civic si grill will fit on a 99 hx.... id say just get an si grille... they look really clean....... just paint it to match ur car or do the infamous black grille trick. flat black spray can

 

F^@k that, remove your grill, take a dremal to it, sand it and paint it, you will have a custom "CTR LOOK" OR.....depending on what look you want you can pretty much make it look like the ctr, or buy some grill material and screw it in the back, i will post pictures of mine later......if you want to know how, i will post the how to.....hope this helped.

if you do buy the si grille insert, make sure to get the painted grille bezel as well. i bought just the insert thinking my dx bezel would fit, but there was an ugly gap, so i had to also buy the si bezel. there was a discussion on the board awhile back where someone justed used their dx bezel. they posted a picture of it. it looked ok, but i'm glad i spent the extra money for the si bezel.
