B20 or H22 for '95 civic EX coupe
I would really appreciate it if I could get some feedback form all of the wonderful peeps out there, and help me decide on what kind of swap to do for my 95 civic ex coupe. There are some things that i want to have as a must. I NEED to have the a/c cuz i live in south texas and the summers here are a ******
, and I would really like to keep the power steering. This one isnt a must but would be a nice thing to keep. I know that both will fit into my car, but i want the best bang for my buck. I dont want to be stuck with something that im gonna regret later. anything else that you can add to this for me that would help me out down the road, would be geatly appreciated. thanks! oh,
p.s.---im going to try and do the swap myself, unless it is really going to be a pain
, then I'll take it to a shop. thanks again for all the feedback!.....................................i have to be the stupidest guy in here ...or it could be the lack of sleep..?? ...N-E-ways, i forgot to put in the beginning, that it wouldnt just be a regular B20 that I want to get....i want to have a B20/VTEC engine.....so now, i am wondering if the answers will be any different....B20/VTEC or H22?? Also, if it still is the H22, should I get the long block, and build it up, or just get a complete JDM H22A?? thanks 4 all the help guys!

p.s. wasn't very helpful but you didnt ask the differences between the engines so didnt put it on there.

thanks for the help....why was the ps a pain?? which gives more hp and torque? i thought the B20 made some crazy hp and torque outta tha box (stock)? or would it be easier and more cost efficient to add to the H22? also, one more question...which H22?? i definitely want to try and get my hands on a JDM one, but which year?? thanks again!
Both swaps are great. I have seen some pretty crazy b20's out there, but I defenitely recommend the H22. I love the swap and makes crazy power and torque. A while ago with just intake, exhaust, fuel pump, and VAFC I made 192 whp with 153 lb of torque. The swap is not that tough, just take your time and do it right. Also get an Obd1 motor. I have a 95 JDM H22a and so far I experienced it is way easier to tune and gain power over the obd2 motors. Good luck with the swap and let us know how it goes.
thanks!!
looks like the H22 it is.....but also, which one?? what years? i'll stick with the H22 until someone brings up some points as good as the H22 for the B20....thanks 4 everyhthing guys!

I have never driven a h22 powered hatch, or anything at that, but i hear that with a stock b20, LS tranny, and a drag turbo kit, it is possible to make your passenger puke half way through third gear. But that is what i hear.
If you want peace of mind and a straight forward swap...i say go with the b20. No need to spend extra money on mounts or customizing ac lines like Mr Jeff Sloan did http://www.hybridautomotive.com. The money you use on all that could go towards a turbo and a b20 is not so bad. I drove with my friend in his eg with b20 and its pullls.
