how do i decide what cams and cam gears i want to buy?? i am non-vtec sooo that should rule out some companies.

 

700 posts and you have to ask that question??? What exactly have you been doing on this site? Need more info on your set-up to know what you may be looking for.

 

well i by aug i plan to have comptech ice box, bored TB, skunk2 IM, maybe comptech 4-2-1 or dc 4-2-1 header, custom 2.25 b-pipe mated to a itr axle-back......and a test pipe for the track. i might have that stuff earlier.

 

I would save the money and convert to VTEC.

 

look at my sig.......i wanna be able to smote people and let them know that a non-vtec smote them. yeah i know that it is gonna be expensive.....but i don't have money commin out of my *** to get all the stuff for a reliable ls/vtec setup and all the tuning. maybe i'll do ls/vtec later.

 

If you want to "smote" people with VTEC engines, you are goint to need to spend some serious money to make that LS engine put down the power. Sleeve the block (rebuild the bottom end while your at it) and get big bores (84,84.5, 85mm) and some custom high compression forged pistons with some Eagle rods. Have the head ported . Get a Skunk2 intake and a bigger throttle body with a good CAI. Get complete exhaust system-header to muffler. Get yourself some nice big cams and a good set of adjustable cam gears. Get a stand alone and take the car to a good dyno shop and spend alot of time tuning. If all of this is too much money, get some mild cams and cam gears and have them dyno tuned. Big cams need big mods to work, so if you can't afford them, you are limited to the milder cam packages. It would be challenging to try and make an NA LS engine put out big HP, have fun.

 

so how would i choose which mild cam set to get. cause i don't plan on shelling out for the bottom end.....yet. i don't have enought money to do the bottom end yet.
