are the metal head gaskets reuseable?

my CX came with a 3 or 4 layer metal head gasket and my friend said it was reuseable . is this true?

It may very well be just as good as before, but why take a chance. I mean when you have anything near heat, even a metal gasket you know it will take its toll, or maybe not, but would you really want to change your head gasket out again sooner than if you just replaced it? I dunno. I would go with what they said. It can be done, but why risk it?
