Well think about it...
Why would it be any less reliable than the donor car?
Another Civic, 'Teg, 'Lude etc...
those go for 100K+ easily...why shouldn't your hybrid?

For the first 2 weeks I had mine, it was running in limp mode or something. nobody could figure out what was wrong, it turned out to be the distributor. But it has been running strong ever since.
If the swap is done right, there should be absolutely NO REASON it shouldn't be just as reliable as a normal car.
My ITR has been in my civic for a few months now, and there has never been a problem.

It's because every kid thinks thier some kind of honda geniuos when they are obviuosly in way over thier head.
Look in any forum and you'll see "how do I wire up the battery" posts everywhere. I have always been a proponent for working on your own car but some things are just to much for people.
And some of them are so f'in cheap they would rather try to cut corners rather than pay to have it done right. These are the people that are street racing there cars and have pieces of ****.
One of my friends went on and on about how easy it was to do his own b16 swap and he then got his *** handed to him by a stock v6 mustang. Even when he went turbo his **** was so slow.
If you look at Hasports swap list and start looking for ways to save money by chinzing **** your gonna be another one of those sorry *** hybrid owners too.
But if you do it right and don't run your car into the ground it will last just as long as any other honda would.

i worried about breaking my swap for about a month
then i realized it has honda reliability
ive only had 2 problems and they were minor. 1 was the injector went bad, other was the coolant temp sensor went out.
normal stuff. its been a little over a year since ive had the car running

1992 Civic VX with 99 B18C1 - over 2 years and running STRONG! No check engine lights, smoking, leaks, grinds, excuses or any of that. Just pure fun to drive!
my buddy has had his b18c spoon motor for about two years or maybe 2 1/2 but he is coming up on 60k. only problem he had was his aem cam gears broke(no clue how that happend) but he has also been runnin a 50 shot on it too and still starts up like a champ everymorning.
