Default TECH question!!(gas lid)

i'm sure a lot of ppl have this question, and i couldn't find it on search, sooo....here it is.

my gas lid doesn't close all the way. when i close it, a little part hangs out and it looks damn ugly like that. [not clean at all]. i don't know exactly what piece of metal to bend to fix it, but it seems that bending it either way doesn't work. what can i do or how do i fix it? | | <---that's the gap, big, yeah? it sticks out

Well what model Honda do you have first off?

I had teh same problem with my 93' civic and it turned out to be the switch the popped the lid out. It was sticking so all I did was lube it with some motion lotion and its working fine now.

which part is sticking out, the end of the part where it opens, or the end of the part where the hinges are at?

the end where it opens. seems like a typical gas lid problem.

I had the same problem on my car. I bent all that stuff hoping to fix it. In the end, I just messed up my cap. I just lived with it when I had my car.

Here is a bad pic, but you can see how it pokes out a little bit..

It's the screw that holds the gas lid in. Loosen it up, adjust, and play away. Eventually you'll get it.

I had the same problem on my Integra after a paint job.. LMK if that works.
