Default S2K antenna conversion question

I finally got around to installing my s2k antenna conversion on my r this weekend, but i have some fitment issues.
It seems that i can still move the antenna a bit from side to side. Its like it's not secure against the fender wall. It doesn't look like a watertight seal and i'm afraid this will mean problems down the road.
Anybody else have this problem, is it normal? Or did i do something wrong?

I plan to install mine this weekend. you got any picture of your install? that might help us diagnose the problem a little better.

E: where did you get your conversion kit?

it will fit snug...you have to make sure that the angled pvc pipe is along the angled portion of the body panel. that's why trey had it cut this way. i installed mine a while ago and it is still very snug...no leaks.

It is also affected by how high the collar the antenna screws into is. If it is a little too loose lower the collar a bit.

Does anyone know if there is a way to maybe rig a switch so that the antenna stays down while listening to CD's? When playing CD's on the stock radio, the antenna stayed up and does the same thing with my aftermarket pioneer. Id like it so the antenna goes up for radio (best reception), and is down for cd's. Anyone?

Thanks Kepani!

Chris (RStoR) and I worked it out and he sells the kits. I just didn't have the time or energy to make them. It is really simple here is my design that Chris uses in his kits.

There is a way to do it I just forget how. You need a switch to turn it on or off (up or down)

Wassup!

[B]Yes.. Trey gets all the credit for the kits design![B]

tie par-
As the guys stated above, sounds like you need to lower the large washer on the treaded rod a bit. The kit simply works on compression. If it still moves after installation, then you need more compression. Think this is clearly stated in the instructions I included. If you have it correctly adjusted it will not move without significant force being applied to it.

As far as reception, a lot of it has to do with your location. Many people see little to no reception change and some can't pick up anything. A cheap upgrade is the use of a home stereo (soft-wire) antenna. You attach this to the threaded mast where the coax cable attaches and run it behind the plastic of the hatch. This should help a lot and only cost $3-4 from RadioShack.

PS: here are some pics
