a tilt sensor is used to detect when your car is raised due to jacking up or towing. it's usually used to protect someone from stealing your wheels.
the digital part... most inexpensive tilt sensors use mercury that sloshes around in a little tube to detect jacking the car up. well, guess what happens if you park on an incline? the mercury all goes to one end, and sensor goes nuts/falses.
the all digital sensor stores what angle your car was at when the alarm was activated, an then triggers if the car is moved from that angle. make sense?
anyone who knows alarms knows that mercury switches are good to avoid
