cause there are some dumb ppl out there that try and cheap skate there way threw a ls vtec and it breaks so they blame it on the motor and not there stupid ness.
but for engine builders some ppl dont like it because of the rod stroke ratio, but iono.

whats everybody runnin for ls vtec?

the main people who disagree with ls/vtecs are people who believe in longer rod motors. also the ls blocks dont have oil jets ( can be easily machined in) there is nothing wrong with ls/vtec setups

ls/vtec

people who say LS/VTEC are only jealous because they are slower.

I say to CRVTEC however because CRV blocks arent that great.

oh and now I will say to the guys with ITR MOTORS!

RACE the same setup back to back

when did you ever really need oil squirters for forged pistons?

"Oh but wait you guys get .2 compression less with your stroke! oh and what's this you guys cant out torque either!"

HONDA over engineered crap haha jk

This thread is like what? 5/1 ls/vtec is up!

ITR MOTOR great beautiful motor but dont hype it all up!

hey my homie has a ls/vtec setup in his gzr!
ditch the crank put in the ls crank BAM! oh and since the GZR head creates more comp. 12.8 comp. pistons now turn into 13.0

well with it being knifeedged you get more stroke to give you slighlty more torque that's why

ls/vtec is great as long as its done the right way. type r is very great as it is bone stock or even built. gsr is great too. i have had no problems with any b series or h series motors. even h23vtec is great. there all great.. this is just great!! ok but all jokes set aside. the reason why i think so many people dog on lsvtec is because they try and do not so smart things like put a b16a head with type r cams with adjustabel sprockets on a stock ls block and bam there valves are smacking the pistons. so the put the blame on the motor and not the installer. i think 90% of engine failure could be prevented if its done properly by a proffessional.

I love LS/VTEC.

People who buy a used 91 B18A and throw on a used 89 automatic B16A head and chip the ecu with no rev limiter and blow up there motors and blame it on the rod to stroke ratio

knifeedging a crank gives you more stroke? How so? Please explain

i say ls/vtec with propler construction and oiling crvtec(unless its resleeved)

but hey why not stroke a vtec motor to larger displacement than an ls motor using an ls crank and call it a day?

EDIT: only if money is no option!

knifeedging a crank just lightens it up to increase the rev speed....thats all

well I worded it wrong! like my fellow honda tech meber said it lightens it! sorry if I confused you? though I shouldn't of!

yeah alot of people do say it's the worst combo you can put together that's why a guy I know wont even talk **** no more! and he is a honda tech member too! Dont knock something you have no clue about! I only wanted to see what everyone thought about it and to show it's not a bad setup! I have nothing but love to all engine builders and people involved in this game!

this place is called HONDA-TECH we could al learn a thing or 2 from eachother!

thanks for all you guys that took time to respond
