Default Can you figure out how much a cyl. head has been milled?

A buddy of mine is trying to trade me a 16A cyl. head that has been reworked by some shop that has closed down.

We know it has been resurfaced/milled perhaps.... because it shows the swirls of a machine going across it.

How do you measure how much has been taken off the top? I don't want to end up buying a head that is beyond its service limit.....

you can measure the height of the head, from the deck to the flat surface that the valve cover sits on. a new b16 head height is 5.5886"-5.5925"

heads also have a marker that tells you the most you can mill the head.
its in one of the corners, looks like a square. you would need a known stock head
to measure to compare though
