what to do about being staked out...
Ok. my car alarm was just set off for the 8th time in just over a week. This time my brother notice a Taurus looking vehicle leaving my complex.. what should I do about this? If i had a camera i would run some servalence. I have Lojack and an alarm but i am afraid this could be my last couple weeks with R. I am not selling it but i think its about to be taken. what advice could some of you give. I got some good advise from Cheesman on what to do.
thanks.
Josh

How is the parking situation in your complex? Try and park as close to your apartment as possible. Does your complex have security or security cameras? Call your local police department and ask them if they can step up patrol in your area. Tell them what is happening to you car and (neighors). Your best bet is to get the R in a garage. Do you have any access to a garage? Family, etc? Please be very careful and good luck to you. Oh yeah, DIE YOU ***** ****** THIEVES!!!!!!
Find their plate # (Security cam near the car?) and find out where they live. Then park outside of their house at night. A little bit of reverse psychology
I don't think they will come back if you know where they live and they know you know.

you already have an alarm. im guessing it at least has a kill switch.
so add:
-adjust alarm to max sensitivy
-hardwire fuel pump kill switch (toggle style)
-remove the ecu, or fuse
-autolock (multiple if needed)
-club (dont do **** but just something else to work through)
-wake up periodically, see if u see anything strange
sleep in it, hiding. let them break in and suprise the hell out of them. (excercise this with caution, they might be packin')

Try to park your car to a different spot so let them sense you're on alert........, or use another vehicle to block your car if possible.
Also, you can do "more" to your alarm system like unplug/ remove "stuff". All those can give you more time to react if **** happen.
If your parking area is too easy to have tow truck drive in ( like no gate or guard at the entrance) you really need to find a way to tie down your car on the ground.
Good luck

Pull the plugs?
Fuel kill toggle?
If you have a vafc, remove that.
Get some friends over and stake out your car for a few nights too...may as well collect as much info as you can on these ******, odds are no one else will.
Put a sign on the dash saying, "I'm watching f***er" or something cheezy like that...well, not really.
If you think they're going to drive off w/it...and not tow it...get the Clifford BlackJax, I'm 100% serious on that. It's NOT an alarm, but a sophisticated anti-carjacking device that saved a friend of mine's teg a few months ago. Read how it works...it's well worth the cash.

Find another car to drive, rent one if you have to.
Remove the wing, seats, shift ****, gauge cluster and muffler.
Leave the car on cinder blocks for a week.
They won't be back.

I got the liscense info of the suspect car. I gave it to jason so maybe he can help me out. The same car that pulled out of the lot after the car alarm went off started to follow me.
he pulled a U turn and followed me 8 miles on my way to honda. I hit the throttle real quick and got infront of some cars so he wouldn't follow me. I decided to take this one road straight and he got in the wrong lane(turning lane). he looked over at me and sure enough it was the same car. So i think i am on to this... I am just going to keep my eye out.
thanks for the posts. these are good ideas.
