Default JRSC CO2 manifold cooler

http://www.designengineering.com/cry...ir_intake.html

I called these folks today and they will be launching a kit for the JRSC in February! It will be the bulb w/o the intake tube (cost is $150 w/ the tube) and we will have to drill and mount it in the manifold. Gas cost about $1/lb is readily available, theirs is a 5lb bottle. You can use activation systems just like N2O systems. When you fill the bulb it will freeze solid and that one charge will not loose temp right away, but will warm up gradually, extending the benefit of a single charge for a longer period of time. They said the road racing guys love this set up. They can hit a manual switch to charge it every so often to keep things cooler over a longer period of time. They also said it will work better on a supercharger than a turbo set-up.

How about an auto switch tied to an IAT sensor on the manifold, maybe even with a multiple bulb set-up.

Well, what do you think?

With all this crap that is going to be such a waste of money, I've decided to start working on an intercooler for the JRSC. I don't know how long it wil take, but I'll get it done and done right. I have waaaay too many projects that I've started and have yet to finish, but this one I'm promising to finish.

interesting design.. it is fairly small though.. I would think the air passes over it so quickly that there wouldnt be that much change in temp... maybee if you used a couple of them

That's what I was thyinking, at least two, maybe even three if there was enough room. The bulbs are cheap. It's more about getting the right fit for the aplication. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with. I'm hoping they will have taken a good look at the manifold and have specific instructions as to where and how to set them up in the manifold. I think this could be a better set-up than using N2O to cool things down.
