Default Evidence of a blown shock?

Sup folks.....
I popped my hood yesterday to make sure everything was Kosher, and I noticed a grease-type fluid around the lock-nut at the top of my right front strut. There wasnt a whole lot, but enough to make me think "What the hell is that?" I looked underneath the car at the rest of the strut and there wasnt any fluid on the shock. I am running KYB agx's all around with H&R race springs on my 91 Civic Si. I have heard from some1 on here that the H&R race lower the car too much for AGX's and they cant handle the load.....that true? Thanks....

jump on that corner of the car, if the car goes up and down once and returns to original position, it still good. if it bounces more, or returns to a diff. position, you got some problems. but leaking fluid would be a good indication, also, you'd notice the crappy ride.

Heh....the ride has always been somewhat crappy with the H&R's. I pushed down on both sides in the front and they seem to have the same amount of give - the right side might have just a TOUCH more. It doesnt bounce more than once, and it still returns to the same spot. What else could the greasy **** be if the shock isnt blown?

I find it odd that the fluid leakage was at the top. Usually if the shock is blown the fluid will leak around the piston and onto the shock body. Did you take off the adjuster to see if maybe fluid was coming up the shaft.? It just doesn't seem likely.

I know on the Tokico illuminas the little adjuster pops right out. Not sure on the AGX's, I thought they were similar. Does the fluid look like it is coming from the adjuster on top?

Yeah....the fluid was around the locknut at the top of the shock piston.
