"Nitrous did bad things to your motor." - D
My R burns about a quart of oil every 120 miles or so.
I was using 5w 30 Mobil 1 and it was burning about a quart every 100 miles
I've switched to Castrol GTX 10w 30, but the problem it still there.
I'm assuming I need new pistons, rings, bearings, and other stuff for a rebuild, so I'll probably go with CTR pistons/rings. What all do I need for a rebuild? Pricing? Any other tips would be very much appreciated
Money is limited.
At the rate my car burns oil, I'll go through 8-10 quarts on the way to Expo.

compression check was done after 2 valves were replaced and all checked in at 230
You need to do a compression check, you might need new rings.

I think we (me and D) are going to go halves on a new block, install it in my car, then build the old one. Swap the old one back in and give the new block to D for his time.

imho, i would get the old pistons replaced with forged parts if you plan on NOS again.
rehone the walls and your good to go.
but i would also consider to bore the thing to 84.5
edit: btw, unless your oil tanker belongs to exxon, it shouldnt be leaking oil

If I get D's old block you can have my old block once I build D's old block a little

Marc,

i would also recomend gong with forged pistons if you ever plan on doing some more spray in the future.

nah, I done with Nitrous.
it just inticed me to street race and street racing is
D and I will be making a plan soon. Surprised he hasn't posted to this yet.... Maybe he's just reading.
Or maybe I'll just take some :190: to the old block.

re-ring it.
No big deal, My friend David and I completely rebuilt his C5 engine.
Pull the head, buy APR rod bolts, head studs.
New rings and CTR pistons while you are at it.
Fresh rod bearings and head gasket.
you are going to have to open the engine to fix your oil consumption problem, so make the best of it!
I will be going the CTR piston skunk2 stage 2's in the not so distant future.

Get with "Len" on H-T... he works in Acura Parts and saved me a shitload of money this morning... I bought about everything one would need for an OE rebuild... I won't say how much a shitload is, but it was better pricing than http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net If you don't IM him, make sure you tell him your from the H-T ITR board...
I would go with some Oversized USDM or JDM ITR pistons!
My Dad once told me, "Longer life through lower compression"
Just make sure you do it right, I would not just run a ball hone through it and slap new pistons in with new rings!
