Default H series transmission compatiblity on F series Motor

I have an F22 which i am building for turbo. The Transmission on my F series motor is very weak and the synchros are going. I was wondering if the H23 tranny would bolt up and mount to my existing mounting points. I am choosing the H23 tranny because of the longer gear ratios and more boost time it would have and its stronger then an F series tranny. Thanks for the help. BTW does anybody have an H22 ECU or Tranny for sale?

well the h22 and the f22 tranys bold up nice and straight, to my knowledge you might have to mess around with the mounts, but dont quote me on that.

I have an H22 ecu if you are interested. PM me or email me at chris@gamisou.com

As for using the H23 tranny, you should be able to do w/o a problem. Ask Accord94DX, he's rocking it..

The H23 does not have longer gear ratios than an F series tranny. A simple search probably would have found this out cause the F v. H series tranny interchangeability gets asked about once a week.

i have the m2s4-4 (h23a1 trans) on my f22b2. Direct swap, no mods needed. Use the prelude VSS and loop the inlet/outlet nipples for the speed sensitive power steering pump.

If you're building for boost, then you don't want to use an H-motor tranny. Even though it's got shorter gears, you won't be able to hold onto boost like you would with the standard unit. Also, if it's primarily for street use, the shorter gears of the H tranny will devastate your fuel economy, and once you have that turbo on, you'll value every last bit of economy.

Exactly, i dont want a tranny with shorter gear ratios. btw, im the one with the "soon to be" turbo F22. Basicly, i just wanted to know my options as to what will and wont work on my engine.

these guys can talk all they want, my fuel economy was not comprimised much at all when i swapped to the lude tranny. kind of a theory vs. application i guess. As for boost, I do not mind having my ratios short, I don't have a need for a 160+ mile an hour car, I would venture to guess top speed without going into redline on with an h23a1 tranny on an accord would be ~130-140mph. To each his own.

boost needs tall gearing, you may like it with shorter ratios, but in theory with a turbo designed for top end you should be faster since you can pull longer in each gear with a f series tranny. now with some crappy t-25 you may better with a h tranny cause they don't pull on top end anyway.

This thread is from 2003. I highly doubt the op is still looking for an H trans. If your trying to sell your stuff, stick to the for sale threads. Or at least look for threads that aren't 7 years old.
