Wheels on a 1997
I am new on these forums...I have a question. I am considering putting some wheels on and replacing my stock alloys. If I purchase wheels, I plan to go with a 17", probably a 205/40/17 tire. I am currently trying to decide between the Focal F5 (silver finish) and the Racing Hart C-5 (silver finish).
My car is still on the stock suspension, so I am tenative to put aftermarket wheels on in fear of my car looking like it is sitting on stilts. I am wondering if I am going to need to lower the car, and if so, how much?
Any knowledge that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.

a 45 series tire is more appropriate for a 17 inch rim on an accord. your car won't look like its up on stilts, the total circumference of the 17 inch rim and tire will be the same as the stock 15 inch rim and tire, the only difference really is that there will be more rim and less tire. but definately think about lowering that badboy....
those tires are too small. you probably want either 205/45 or 215/40 or maybe even 215/45. anyway although technically the height doesn't change, it will definetly look higher, so I would reccomend lowering.
Thanks. I will give it some thought, probably go about 1", or maybe 1.5". Any suggestions on other rims I should look at that would look good on my Accord?
go with 205/40/17
i have them..love it..consider I'm in Socal..crazy road, speed bump
and all that good stuff..
lower it with 1.5-2 inch no problem..i personally have prokit=1.5 inch drop
which leave me about 2 finger gap, no rubbing or major camber problem

choicing rims is a personal thing..
c-5 i think is pretty played out..
17=some good some show.
I wish i know more about it before i brough my 17's
I want a set of rota c-8 so bad!
anyway..even see those rims on dc5?

Go with 215/40/17. Still get a low profile with a little more cushion and closest to factory tire diameter.
I had 205s and I couldn't lower my car enough for the wheel gap not to look stupid without my car dragging.
