Default which axle on what side?

I just got two new integra axles from Napa, but am not sure which axles goes on what side, they both appear to be similar in lengh, one maybe a hair shorter. HOwever one of the axles has a rubber balancer? around the shaft? So what side does the axle with the rubber balancer go on?
I tried searching, and didnt get instructions or diagrams with the axles.

Thanks

The driver's side axle inner CV joint should have splines the lenght of the joint while the right (passenger side) has splines half way up the joint. I take it you have an intermediate shaft?

OH great, thanks for the pic. The only problem is i just put all the suspension back together, but it looks like the harmonic dampener is on the right side???

You might look at your intermediate shaft. look where the two shafts slide together, if there is enough room look and see if it's splined all the way down, It should be. I'm not sure if you can tell or not. but all you would have to do is take apart one side and you'd know, better to be safe than sorry

hey, quickness, I know when we put those bastards in there they were both splined all the way to the cv joint. which one is shorter? i dunno, it said in the ef service manual that they are both the same length. a little over 19" each side. ill cut and paste.

damn PDF, cant do it.

well anyway, it says if you have an intermediate shaft each axle should be 19.29"

it also shows that the half splined should go on the pass side, but is not crucial. the spline in the transmission will only touch half of the splines on the axle. so basically, it doesnt matter whether you use a half splined or not.
