Default Aftermarket CAT-BACK Exhaust Review Thread (PICs Please)

All right. DID A SEARCH and not many threads came to my attention. There are quiet a few aftermarket exhausts out there for the CRXs.

Since I am in the market for an exhaust, why don't we start a thread that reviews the current available exhausts that are on the market.

Anyone that's on the board, whom have full aftermarket cat-backs , please post some pictures!

Here are some brands and models that I know of -

DC Sport
HKS
Greddy MX
Tanabe Hyper Medallion
Tanabe Racing Medallion
Thermal Research

This is just a review from people that have aftermarket cat-back exhausts, let us know what yours looks like, sounds like, performs like, and etc.

I am not looking for a certain response, just want to know what's available and what people think of them.

Thanks all!

I have the GReddy mx cat-back. Its a nice system, not loud until you rev high. I'll try getting a picture of it in the next couple days. I'd definately reccomend it.

What are you looking for? Full-cat back. Just a universal and your own pipping? Do you wnat quite? Loud? Looks? Pipe sizeing? Answer some of those first.

Let's try to keep this thread as CAT-BACK oriented, rather muffler oriented.

Here's my custom setup:

2.25 inch crush bent piping
no cat (replaced with glasspack)
eBay fart pipe

It sounds really nice and I would recommend this to anyone who is short on dough, but wants some go!

You can get an idea of what it sounds like through this link - http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MxeTU0MQ%3D%3D

What motor are you planning on running? This is very important to consider because if you are going to use a modified B series, I wouldn't want to get stuck with the dinky 50mm piping of the greddy Sp. At that point the MX would be suitable, but honestly I would go for size, and the thermal units win hands down.

Here's my Sp on my hatch

I was very surprised with how quite it was initially, but it sounds very nice when opened up. It's very docile for dailydriving too. Everyone that rides in my car loves the sound of it vs everything else they've heard. The tanabe is super obnoxious, and looks ghetto rigged in my opinion. Have you looked at the Apex world sport system, that looks and sounds really nice too.

HKS Sport. Piping is a little small for anyone with a lot of engine mods but for my car it's great. It's pretty quiet until you are at really high rpms where it sounds like an NSX

I love my full stainless exhaust system "GREAT QUALITY AND FANTASTIC SOUND"
Includes: SUS-304(better then T-304)Stainless Header, T-304 Stainless High Flow Cat , T-304 Stainless Mid-pipe and the rest of the T-304 stainless piping, muffler and DTM dual tips, All from OBX Racing for $540.00 delivered to my door. I know it sounds to good to be true, but my friend who has been installing brand name exhaust systems for years thought that this is one of the best systems he has seen. Sorry I don't have any pics to post, But you can look at the site that I bought my exhaust from. They have all the pics. If you are interested in buying from them don't look at all of the individual prices for everything, Just contact them via e-mail and tell them you are looking for an entire exhaust system for a CRX and they will give you a good price (Better than individual cost). Here is the link: http://www.ssautochrome.com Hope this helps! P.s. The performance gains were fantastic (Including header).

If I was doing and all motor b series in a CRX, I would get the Greddy MX. 60mm piping with that nice greddy quality and tone. Personally I have the Greddy SP on my hatch and it was awesome until I tore it all up a couple off weeks ago. Work great through 4 years and a flood.
