Can these be buffed out?
When I went road racing I had a little accident. I went into a turn a bit to hot had to break so I lost the rear, slide across the track went head first into the ditch and my lip and bumper got a bit damaged. The only damage are various cracks in the paint from the bumper absorbing the impact. So as the pics will show I have cracks in my paint, can these be buffed out or is it a $300.00 paint job?
spid0r webz 0wnz j00!
i dont know if you can buff that out man, those are cracks, not scratches.. battle scars!.. it shouldnt cost too much to get a bumper and lip painted.. but you might have to go through with it.. unless you want to try and buff that out.. get some of that magic scratch remover stuff and go to work with the buffer.. if it doesnt work.. just take it to the body shop when u got money.. it doesnt look THAT bad anyways..so i wouldnt be too worried about it..

yeah you cant buff out cracks. BUT before taking it in to get repainted, try wetsanding it with 1200 grit or finer and see if its just the clear coat and see if you can sand past the cracks. DO NOT sand too much, any signs of color on your sand paper then you'll have to repaint regardless.

Ehhh, I hate to break it to you but if you can get that fixed for $300, give me the name of the shop because they are either doing a half assed job or thats one hell of a deal. That or body shops here in Iowa cost an arm and a leg.
