I want valvetrain specs of each car, stroke, bore, and etc, please ....clearances...I'm seeing if what everyone is saying is true...but I think the D17/D16 heads are almost identical...I need every spec possible, and ideas are very welcomed...

What is that the D17a2? I may have to look that one up! Well here's the little bit I know about these two. Both are SOHC Vtec engines and have a bore of 75mm, the D17 has a stroke of 94.4? and the D16y8 is 90? The D17 has a displacement of 1668cc and the D16 has a displacement of 1590. Power for the D17 is 127bhp@6300 and torque is 114@4400...I think. The D16y8 is 127bhp@6600 & 107ft/lbs@5500. C/R is 9.9:1 & 9.6:1 D17/D16 respectively. I do not know what decks heights are on those 2. Hope this helps.

That D16 heads, work w/ D17 blocks??? From this info I can't really tell, but I know that the valves and springs match the exact same specs, but that's about it...

No one has tried yet. Because the D16's have cams for them and the D17's don't.

 

No, I'm trying to mate a D16 head on my friends D17...I want to make sure that it is kosher, so that he can do it, upgrade cams, shafts, and etc...plus maybe p&p...
