i dont get why you people get back or white wheels. is it because of looks or does it have something to do with performance? do you guys get white wheels so the brakes stay cooler? could you tell me the good things and the bad things about getting black/white wheels? thanks

Black rims - Look cool on a white car when driving, so you just see the rotor and brake caliper

white rims - looks good on a blue car.

 

I got flat black wheels becasue I wanted to get away from the "look at me, my car is fancy and shiny" look. I like the though tof having a race car that is not attracting attention, so I can avoid being revved on during my drive to work, and so I can not worry about getting my wheels stolen. Plus brakedust isnt an ugly mess either and touch up on any damage is easy with a can of Krylon bbq paint

Some guys with white wheels on a white car want that all white car, monochromatic look. Yuck.
Other guys with white wheel on a non-white car, man I have no idea what they are thinking.

but it all comes down to what someone thinks "looks cool" so that is really the reason.
-I'd rock white TE37's if I got them for a good deal, thats no joke.

 

color of the wheels is just like the color of your car...its just what you like...
i think the civic si blue looks good on white wheels...but i wouldnt get white wheels my self...im going 19 inch full chrome baby!

Not at all, thats like saying decals give me 5 extra hp.

i thought that was the whole premise as to why companies give you decals. example: AEM, i installed their intake, and sure it felt good, to they said to apply their decal as well to gain the maximum power out of my car. the power really comes out of the decal. nothin else can explain it. intake just makes noise, decal makes power.

 

It could be slightly performance.. A lot of the wheels that are black are smaller sizes, 15 and 16 inch. Most wheels like Rotas are light too, which can affect performance and handling. I choose black because yes, it does draw less attention, less bling = less cops and unwanted attention

 

black wheels are for us lazy that dont wash our cars plus no one where live likes them and they usually think they are hub caps... btw...why is this in the tech forum?

 

If you get white wheels, then you know for sure when your axle boots bust.

 

i got black... their different than the norm around here, and everyone just thinks someone stole my hub caps. I don't need another stolen car.
