CF Hoods
want to buy a Carbon Fibre hood for my 94 prelude. Saw one I like at Visracingsports.com, but before I fork over the $$$ I just wanted to see what people thought of VIS... Do they make good quality gear or is it crap? And are they reliable??
Anyone who has dealt with them before please let me know!!!

pay a little more and get a fiber images. http://www.fiberimages.com the quality is much better, as is the fit.
my friend (with a 4th gen prelude) and I both got VIS carbon fiber hoods at the same time to save on shipping. Mine sucks, his is good. mine has like all these white dots which I think are like bubbles under the clear coat or something. also it has a few bumps. Nothing noticable from a distance though. anyway his was fine, it even survived an accident with just a few scratches.
only problem is that I want a hood with a scoop for better ventilation.
kinda like this one...
its called an 'invader style' hood from VIS. if anyone knows of another place that sells a similar style PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

I've noticed that the car runs pretty hot (like the temp is always above the half way mark)
I have had the cooling system checked a hundred times and the honda mechanic says that it is "within expected parametres". Thats fine for now, but I am hoping to chuck in a turbo over the next few months, and I don't want the car to overheat. It's fine when the car is moving, but when I am stopped in traffic it gets me pretty worried.
A few of the guys on HT have mentioned that the car runs a bit cooler with a hood vent, because the hot air can escape easier. That sounds good to me.
