Well this is regarding the part I need for my b16. Did they ever offer a 1995 del sol that was sohc and came with vtec ? Was it the si ? I need a starter for a dohc vtec del sol. I went to pep boys and murrys and both of them never asked me how many cams. All they asked was, 1.5 or 1.6 . So I was just curious.

they mad two model with two differant engines. one is the S model (witch is what i have) with a d15b7 1.5L non-vtec, and the SI model with a d16y8. they didnt make one with a Bseries motor. whoever had it before you did a motor swap. just find another car like a TEG that came with a b16 and tell them you have that car. go to http://www.darksol.com and go to the services page and click on motor swap and look till you see a car with that engine.

to answer the question: in 95 they came 3 models with 3 motors. S with a 1.5l non-vtec, Si with a 1.6l vtec, and vtec model with a b16a3. it is the only honda civic chassis in america with the b16a motor before 99 (civic si). only other motor that came close was the 93 gsr with a 1.7 liter vtec.

Yes and finding are part for them is even harder I think. The guy at Murrys asked me if I had a 1.5 or 1.6, I told him 1.6. Or course he did not have the starter for the 1.6 vtec motor. So he orderd it and I will have it soon. But my chances are like 50/50 , cause he could of order it for the 1.6 vtec sohc. O well, if its the wrong part, I will be returning it. Hopefully its for the dohc, I am thinking it is because he did have ot order it. Well guess I'll see soon. Thanks
