Default Paint job

A guy at work today told me he would shave all the **** on my car, and paint the whole car for 450$. He can do pretty much any color I want, but some may be a tad more. He seems very reliable. Is this too good to be true? He is checking to see how much electric blue will cost. Hopefully I get a new paint job, that will be so clean. And btw he is going to sand, primer and paint.

So what your saying is he is going to essentially do all the work for free. Just in primer, paint, reducer and other materials you're going to have $450. You said he is going to shave all the stuff, I'm assuming that's handles, antenna etc. And you are talking about a color change. Unless you're going to be doing the work for him and all he is doing is spraying than I would say it is too good to be true.

the dude sounds pretty reilable to me. He said it will cost ~200 for the paint depending on what color. I asked how long it would take and he said 2 days, but then he was like.....3 because he is going to sand, primer, paint, then do the finishing touches. He works at a body shop I know because another guy at work told me this before the guy even worked at papa johns. I'm going to talk to him a littloe more about it. He is going to find out how much electrical blue will cost. If I do get a paint job what do u guys think. Stay red, or get another color, and if so what color. for 450 he will paint everything except the insides of the door and the inside of the trunk, but I dont really care much about that.

Still sounds fishy to me. And only taking 2-3 days to do a complete job also sounds fishy. I wouldn't change the color if you are going to do a half *** job. There is nothing worse that seeing a car without its door jambs painted to match. Stay with the stock color it has a better chance of coming out better if you stick with this miracle man. Good luck.

it does not take 2-3 days to shave, primer, and paint.

shaving is time extensive and can take up to weeks to do properly, primer needs at least a day to cure so it doesnt shrink back.....and the whole car needs to be sanded, cleaned and washed, which is another day.

then the car has to be cleaned again, masked off and finally painted which is another day.

estimated time, about 4 weeks plus if he can haul some ***.

3 days for just the sanding primering and painting, not shaving. And I have seen his work, its pretty good. He has all his **** shaved which he did. It looks like **** because all his car is a diferent color, but he just can't afford paint at this time, and he is coinstantly adding new **** so he doesnt wanna paint it yet.
