Sorry i was just looking for a general opinion....

Its for a 96 civic cx.

 

I have the Tein REs. Very stiff for the streets and awesome on the track... The only other person I know that has them is RyanR.

 

I had the Zeal Function S (S6 with non-adj. valving) in my '00 Si for about 1.5 years; recently sold them and put in an used set of Mugen Lowdowns (to free up some money).

The Zeals were fantastic - I miss them already

I had 12/8 spring rates, didn't find them harsh at all. Full aluminum construction means HUGE savings in unsprung weight:

Front: 6lbs, 9oz
Rear: 6lbs, 1oz

I recommend them without hesitation

i have tein ra's, i like them alot but at times they are really stiff on shitty east coast roads. handling/performance is amazing though. if $ wasnt an object i would have gone with the zeal s6, they have softer spring rates, are slightly lighter, and are 3 way adjustable rather than 2.

I have the Tein RS now. Little extreme for the street, but they are sick. I wub them.

 

All Gay, May want to Try something along lines of custom spring rates, I would NOT use suspension With stiffer spring rates Unless you are aware of the Crazy Camber and Caster setups are Eastern friends use with those setups!

Though if you wanna just be able to SAY you have a JDM suspension setup then Get one of those setups!

thats bullshit if the kid wants a full coil over set up japan i the really only option. you can peace together **** from america but nothing really even has the same options as the japanese counter parts. some people will say eibach spring wiht adjustable perch and a really good shock will be just as good but he wants a full coil over. and i think the JDM bull **** needs to stop

 

wheres the function in buying said "JDM coilovers" as most of them are meant for tracks with the spring rates, valving, etc. I think more people get them for the name then the function of em'..

My friend has RA's, they are sweet and all but the ride is harsh. He will be tracking his car (HPDE) soon so theres a reason why to get it. I'd much rather go for a GC/Koni setup now, until I can outdrive that suspension, and I dont think that will happen anytime soon...

I have the JIC FLT-A2's on my DC5. They ride pretty nice on low damper settings, and perform very good on higher damper settings. The valving is matched pretty well to the spring rates (tho, it's a tad underdamped at full soft). A friend of mine has a set of Tein RE's on his DC2-R and he likes those a lot as well. I don't think any of these would be a poor choice. Another option w/in the same price range would be the Buddy Club Racing Specs...tho, they're the heaviest of the bunch, but have the largest piston.
