Default Newb Question

I just got my first car today!!! Its a 93' Civic EX coupe. This is my first time driving manual transimission so its a little tricky to drive it right now.

Im fine going into 1st and so on. But reverse is where my troubles are. Whenever I shift into reverse the engine starts bucking or jerking. What am I doing wrong?

don`t be afraid to give it some gas. Plus, let the clutch out slowly.

Yeah, you have to give it gas. Once you drive it for awhile you will just kinda feel where the clutch needs to be and where the gas needs to be for reverse. Just don't be afraid. Also go to an empty parking lot and get some practice.

It doesnt jerk or anything right when the clutch is almost out but when i start to let it out all the way it starts up again. If i leave my foot slightly on the clutch it will be smooth but once i take it off it is rough.

Yeah sounds like a gas problem, dosent sound like anything is wrong. Just give it some gas when it does that, just don't floor the car or anything.
