rubbing issues.....ayyy my tires!!!
wondering if anyone has any suggestions on this: theres a really long metal tab that runs accross the top of the wheel well, usually covered by the inner lining that eats away at my tires when i'm turning hard. I'm thinking of cutting slits into it and pounding them flat so it doesnt have contact with my tires. i raised the front a bit..and it seems to have fixed the problem...but its a soar on my eyes to see my car like that...
wondering if you guys have had similar problems....and what did you guys do to remedy it???
any feedback welcome..
thanks

Raise your car and don't run a wide tire... its kinda the price you pay for doing that. I had a similar problem in my civic I was slammed running a 205 series tire and when I got some 195s with my car raised up some it corrected that problem. Also get some better shocks and springs, that can play a role in your problem as well. Good luck with it though.
A 205 will fit in a civic without rubbing. U need an offset of 42 or greater.
Raising the car wont help because when the suspension goes on full compression, it will rub again.
Get the right rim offset or thinner tires.

i appreciate all the feedback...i am running 205 R16 with a 42 offset....

it rubs on hard hard driving..not street driving....and last night..up in the canyons...
i had a considerably large individual on passenger side...and thats the side that rubbin
i did raise the car a bit...and all seems well..but i still wanna smash that tab in...so i can lower

I think the way the lip is usually bent is with a baseball bat. You roll the bat along the wheel while pushing the metal piece upward. Im not really sure if this is the same thing they used this technique for.
