Susp./cops/Cali/USA/ feedback wanted Please help
Being that this forum on average contains the smartest people (exlucding the racing forums) ill ask this here.
I was always wondering Why cant we make our cars handle better legally? And better handling leads to a safer car. I saw some street racing show on MTV and the cop said 'we only ticket lowered cars because we do not know if they've modified their suspension incorrectly which can lead to accidents, and other blah' That triggered a light in my head. Would it be feasible to have some kid of SQC (Susp. Quality Check) for suspension. Something similar to a CARB but for susp. products. So if we are pulled over for modified suspension we would be able to show them that we have Quality suspension that has been checked by a professional-be it state employee @ref'ng type station or what not
California allows us to modify our cars engine (CARB allowed perf. products) that will make the car faster, however, they will not legally allow us to run a modified suspension to make our cars handle safer. I drive a stock 1994 Civic Hatch Back CX. Going on some turns at posted ideal MPH can still become scary and somewhat dangerous in my car.
This is just a vague idea i have in my head. Basically i'd like to see someone establish some kind of "CARB" type system for suspension to allow us to legally run 'modified suspension'.
Please give me feedback, ideas, devil advocate statements, etc!
