Default Best Brake Pads for stock rotors.

I need to replace my brake pads. It's on an EK with stock rotors. I only drive on the street, but I'm an aggressive driver. I'm not to worried about brake dust cause I have black rims. Mainly don't want them to sweak or tear up the rotors, but I'd like better stopping power at the same time. They also need to perform ok, not great, in cold weather since I'm in Utah. What aftermarket pads does everyone recommend for my needs, or should I just go OEM. Thanks.

well since you only drive on the street, axxis metal masters would be a great choice.

So, what is the difference between Axxis Ultimates and the Axxis Metal Master? So both won't be too hard on my rotors? Thanks for the help.

I vote for the Axxis Ultimates as well. It's a nice pad that has good cold and hot bite. It doesn't dust all that bad either when compared to other pads out there.

i am running with aem pads, they are really nice...although i am still breaking them in..but u could feel that its way better over stock, and the price is unbeatable.. they have a group buy on GBC.. and the aem pads are made by nissin, which makes oem brakes and spoon brake as well..so i would vote for aem .

Awesome pads, only gripe I had was the loads of dust. But since you're not worried about that, they'd work great for oyu.

Go with Raybestos ceramics. They will suit your stated purpose[s], plus they won't dust your rims.

how about oem? you're using oem rotors.. most aftermarket pads tend to squeal. Honda pads have a pretty decent composite..

It looks like everyone has an opinion on this one. So here are the options:

Axxis Ultimates
Axxis Metal Master
Raybestos ceramics
AEM

Any advantages or disadvantages of going with one over the other. Or should I just go with what I can find for the cheapest. Thanks for the help

I still say go with the Axxis Ultimate's. They are a cheap pad to purchase, and they have great cold/hot biting power. I have yet to have them squel on Autozone rotors, and this is after a day at the track with them. They provide TONS more grip over the OEM pads, and when they were warm they were pretty hard to fade.

PM Andie (aka Cobalt) for some pads. You get 15% off I believe if you are a H-T member. Great guy.

Here's a couple of insights: Raybestos ceramics actually DO squeal, but their sound is outside the audible range for humans, so you CANNOT hear them. Secondly, Raybestos ceramics DO produce dust. However, ceramic/copper dust does NOT stick to rims, so who cares?

Anyway, do what you want, Tyler_Durden. The fact is, Raybestos makes products of a quality that other manufacturers can only dream about. I have told you my opinion and gave you a couple of 'insights'. The rest is up to you.

Latez...

When you say it's not audile to the human ear that kind of worries me. I kind of have dog like hearing. I can hear high pitched noises that no one else hears. Such as the noise a big screen makes when it's turn off. I think I might try the raybestos though, it's either that or the axxis ultimates. The lifetime warranty is a big plus cause I'm really hard on my brakes. Thanks for the help everyone.

at least run something w/ an FF rating. measured from A-G in how well they stop the car. first letter is cold rating. second letter is hot rating. I run raybestos ceramic on my sienna(family hauler) and PG plus on my hatch
