Default where did this manifold come from?

ok I have had this mani in my closet for like a year now. The guy I got it from said it was made to fit a T25 on a B-series. Ive never actually seen a non-dsm T25 so Im not sure what the flange looks like. The other day I busted this thing out and the flange looks a lot like a t3 flange. Any idea on the flange or the maker of this thing?

Ps: sorry about the ghetto webcam pictures, but it was free

looks to me like a greddy manifold or something. has those nipples on top for the heatshield. have you bolted it up to anything?

Yeah, quite interesting. Looks like it was designed to have the runners equal in length. Bolts for a heatshield; no external wastegate flange.

i agree... prolly an HKS. it does look simialr to the GReddy, but i belive that turbine falnge looks to big to be a GReddy, looks more like a T3 than a T25

I haven't actually bolted it up to anything yet. Im starting to think it is a t3 flange, but i cant fnd anyone who has a t3 (or at least a t3 flange) laying around to check it against. Also, would it be possible to weld an external w/g flange onto a cast iron mani.? If not im probably just going to sell it and get a rev-hard or inlinepro mani.

damn, ill sell it then. I want to go t3 because once i build the engine there will more choices for growth there. and yes it is a b-series.

its plenty close enough for it to be t3,you can always drill new holes in the flange for a t3,thats not hard to do at all.

Yes but would it be possible to weld on cast iron? I have been told that you cant weld on cast iron. If so I can buy a $20 t3 flange and a $15 tial flange.

you can wels cast iron, but it's really frakin hard. you would have to take it to a kick *** welder, and you still aren't guaranteed it will hold. be sure it is cast iron, my GReddy manifold on my car is cast stainless steel

It's an HKS turbo Manifold, it bolts up to a B - series manifold and it bolts to a T25 turbo and I have a better picture of one... but since imagestation is messing up righ tnow I can't post it. Well, my manifold is for sale and if you want to run a T3 with this manifold, oir an external wastegate, no problem, any capable welder/muffler shop can run make something similar to this...

or this is you are hurt for clearances...

They can make it on a simpler scale it is a short pipe with a flange on each side...1 side is the T25 for the manifold and the other is a T3 or T4 whichever you choose. It should cost no more than about $25 on the high side...

P.S. I'll post the pictures of mine later, it's not all cast looking and looks pretty good.

Later,

Sean C.

my neph was able to weld a mild steel WG flange onto a cast iron manifold w/o any problems.. it has held up since and the welding looks quite professional..

we used my mig welder w/ gasless welding wire...

you wont know until you try it urself..

I have the exact same manifold. Its NOT a T3 flange, I think its a t25 flange. I had to get a flange to adapt my T3 to the manifold. I belive is the same manifold thats in the greedy though.

Well, as it was described to me it you don't want to make the little adapter then find someone that is old that's been welding for a while. The reason for this is that they used a lot of cast Iron back in the day and that's what they are used to welding! So find an old person that used to weld and is still familiar with it and offer him 20 bucks...

Any welding shop can do it. You dont need an old man welder to do it. You could do it at home if you had a welder and the right wire/stick. Its a manifold not a crane used for building skyscrapers.

hey at least the elderly are good for something, j/k
Ill probably just make the adapter plate, it would be easier than welding new flanges onto the existing mani for about the same price.
