I'm from Russia. I'm about to buy from Japan 1997 Integra Type R. Its on AT, will be changed to manual gearbox soon. Will you please tell me, how can i tune this car to show good results at moscow drag-race competitions. What will i have to do to show on 1\4 mile less then 14.5 seconds? I'm a student, so dont have money to get tuned expensivly. Although, i have no experience yet on tuning, but will do my best to try! Thanks to everybody!

 

I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as an AT Type R. You better check into that.

 

I think you are correct. you need to check on that. oh and the ITR will run quicker than 14.5 with simple free mods ie.. disconnect ps belt and advance timing.
Just do some more research and make sure you cover all your bases.

 

The car is Honda integra SiR with Automatic transmission. Soon AT will be changed into manual gearbox, computer will be taken from R-Type. As a result we will have almost type R )

I would start with top head work, cams, cam gears, etc... then possibly start with engine work, and get a chip.
Just get some friends over who know how to work on cars and get them to help you out.

 

"free" modifications that can be performed...

remove the power steering belt
remove Air Conditioning
remove any extra weight (like spare tire or anything heavy)

 

It will still be far from a type-r, what you'll have is a SiR MT with a computer designed for different cams, compression, etc.

If you can't get a ITR then save up and turbo the SiR

 

Our service people will try to make the comp work in a desired manner. to turbo SiR will cost 3500$, wheb the car's price is 4500$.
