Realistically, more like $10K. That is because the parts give it its value and the chassis is worthless. Most insurance companies won't offer full coverage for it.

dont the 97s go for like 18-19K with good mileage so I'll say around 12-14K for a good mileage one

There is a salvaged 97 R with an 00 ITR motor and GSR interior in pretty good condition for like, $11k in San Diego.

You have to give us more info on the car if you want a rough estimate

salvage title dramatically drops the value of the car. Also lots of credit companies won't give you a loan on a salvage title car, at least without a high interest rate. I know my credit union wouldn't give me a loan for a car with a salvage title.

There was a pretty good story on Hybrids.jp about how this guy wanted to buy a salvaged R (the one I mentioned earlier) and all the problems that he faced with his bank. It's a lot of trouble to go through. If you don't have the cash, I suggest you start looking for something else.

Salvage cars can be headaches sometimes...

15k is too much. It really depends on why it has a salvage title.. if it's due to theft and the parts were replaced then I would not worry about it too much.. however if it were in a major wreck, has serious frame work or they rewelded two cars together to make one.. then I'd stay away from it.
