i'm going to assume that this is a civic or a crx that we are talking about? well it would all depend on what you are doing with the car. if it is a daily driver then i would say do the konis but also look into the bilstein coilover set. the brakes are not needed if you are only dragging the car. that is just over kill but if you are driving the car day to day then it will be nice to have but also really not needed. i do know that strange is making a bolt in coil over kit that is made of a one piece billet strut with their springs. saw the system at the pri show and it looks really good. if you didn't know, strange is a company very trusted in the domestic drag racing market and i would say look into that system for your car. i hear it is going to be very affordable. their number is 847.663.1701 ask for jeff stange. just my input. i'm not a big fan of the skunk / ground control "coilover springs" (really just an adjustable string not a real coilover), you will have better luck with a progressive spring for day to day and drag.

Here is a picture of the strange strut bodies.

what is nice about these are the fact that they are built with drag racing in mind and they are going to be fully adjustable. i think the price tag is going to be in the ball park of $250 per strut and spring... call to make sure on that though.

I am the starter at a race track and I pay attention to the brands of the components on car, especially rails, and 90% of the rail I see(most run high 4'sor better in 1/8 mile) use strange rear ends.
