Default Exedy Clutch

I did a search already, and Im wondering if peeps are still having problems with there exedy clutch noise/squeeking? Im in the market for a new clutch and this and the Clutch Specialties Stage 2 are on my list. Also thinking of just sticking with the R PP and going with the Exedy organic clutch disk.

What info do you guys have on fixing this problem? Or anybody got info for running the ITR PP and Exedy or anyafter market disc? Im not planning on pushing any big whp numbers so Im not looking for much of a extreme clutch.

Maybe just go with full ITR clutch set-up again... :shrugs:

Misfit is the only guy that has no problems, eventhough u push his pedal all the way in and it grinds like all Exedy's. I am very unhappy with the clutch. After only 1000 miles my exedy was slipping. Now it is worse with still only 3000 miles on it.

I decided to go with a clutch that will hold the power and take the abuse. I have a ACT Extreme PP and street/strip Disc along with a Fidanza flywheel. I will post a full review late this week. Exedy =

I am not having any problems with my clutch. I did not even have to adjust the clutch pedal. No grinding or slipping at 1000miles.

J, fwiw, I had my ITR clutch in my GS-R for about 35k miles before I sold it. Held up great but I only had 156whp, 125 trq to deal with. Anywho, I dunno what clutch I'll do when mine pukes.

Smitdog, I think I remember reading a few post from you not likeing the Exedy piece.

It seems like these pieces are like a hit or miss. Some have no problems and others do.

Cant wait to see the review, keep us posted y0.

I think its time you Should adjust the clutch?

I had similar problems, Though in about 2 min. I had adjusted the clutch for early release and I have had no problems Since!

You need to remeber that it will also get worse being the Clutch seats into the FW!

Needs to be adjusted to compromise!

I Actually Like the clutch ALOT!
For the price Its Great!

Yeah Arron, Im rocking the ITR clutch and flywheel too, and I got about 30-40k miles on it. Im thinking about just going with a new ITR set-up and Spoon flywheel and just hopes the ITR will hold up to the lapping(and few auto-x)events.

Got the flywheel choice, just need the clutch decision now

Sup Adam. I was going to go with the spoon fly/exedy clutch set-up. But now I just want a clutch that wont have any type of problems in the long run. But the exedy pricing is just so sweet. I'll just have to think it over and decide on which one I want.

you must've heard the same things I did before I bought mine.. now I want to get rid of it.. nothing but problems with it.. i recommend people spend a few more dollars and get a MUCH nicer clutch.. do leg workouts or something to accomodate the stiffer pedal feel..

How would you guys compare the two for hold up of abuse? For auto-x/lapping events? All you ITR clutch users, how has your stock clutch held up? And same question goes for Exedt users.

I have a spoon flywheel/exedy clutch combo.
No problems except odd spinning noises when clutch is pushed all the way in.
What the hell is that anyway?

Had my Exedy installed by Honda. I was away from home so i couldn't do it myself. Anyways it has held up good and no noise at all. Since then i've gone turbo and it's started to slip. I'm making more power than i thought i would.

Oh i have the Organic Race clutch

2000 turbo ITR. I'm running a CM stage 3, stock flywheel. After drag racing the clutch still holds, no evidence of slippage. A friend has exedy on his old school all motor GS and is very happy with it, I drove it, it's a nice feeling clutch. The CM feels very close to stock, but grabs like a *****.
