kyokugen or other aftermarket "tuner" lugs on oem/ stock rims.....
I have a buddy running these lugs on hx rims.
I have told him to no end, that this is BAD. That the seat is acorn for oem rims, and that tuner lugs are taper.
But he doesn't believe me.
Can you point me to the threads where people are having lugs come undone, or are ******* up their rims by running lugs with the wrong kind of seat?

Why don't you both go out to your cars, and remove one lug nut from each car, and show him how the two surfaces mate perfectly on your wheels and lugs, but don't match up on his?
Already did that, but he says they look the same.....

Anyone? I don't wanna let him have his wheel fall off or something cause he's a friend.

Let him find out the hard way
I was wondering if this applied to the jdm itr rims. I see lots of pictures posts where people are running non-stock lugs. Do they just get these lugs in the "ball" variety?

No, those people are idiots. OEM wheels need OEM style lugnuts. Aftermarket wheels need conical/tuner style lugnuts.

Haha. Nearly 6 years later this still rings true.
