How would I go about registering an NSR straight off the boat from Japan? Will I experience any difficulties? Suggestions please.

 

Difficulties is an understatement! It's more like a royal pain in the ***. What year is the bike? If it's a pre 88 you might have a shot. Just make sure you do your research before you even TRY to register it. People have made the mistake of taking the bike straight to the DMV where they were sent to the CHP for inspection, at which point the CHP failed the inspection for many obvious reasons. Once you fail this inspection, it stays with the bikes record (as being NOT STREET LEGAL) thru the VIN #. IT IS POSSIBLE! DO THE RESEARCH.

I've seen other NSRs, MC21 and MC28s, on sale on ebay that have been registered here in the US...has anyone had any experience registering these grey market bikes?
