I have heard that traction is key in these situations... So like Nineseccrx said traction...

Weight, Traction, driver
plus most of the n/a guys rev out further on the rpm band ... the turbo guys try to keep their rpms to 8500-9K max cause you don;t need the added stress of boost and high rpm unless its a full race motor, or else that will dramatically reduce engine life. The na guys have cams and header designs, as well as head work that make very high HP from peaking at a high rpm, this gives the edge on the n/a motors commonly referred to as "long legs"

A higher revlimit lets an NA car take advantage of gearing.

Better torque and power curve. You dont just go from 150hp to 250hp in the space of 500-1000rpm its all the way through.
Most of it comes down to traction which is your power control if its gradual its easier to control.
Weight has a factor I'd be gathering the car has had alot of stuff removed even if it does still have interior. Plus you dont have the turbo, intercooler etc weight.
Power from an N/A car is more true on the track since the envirnomental changes dont effect it quite as much as a turbo'd car.
the list goes on, Better driver, better built motor, better running gear etc

Weight is definitely a factor as well as driver and traction. But I think that the biggest thing is actual useable horsepower. There are a lot of cars out there that are making crazy peak horsepower, but that is not always the best thing in the 1/4 mile.

Yea traction is a huge part. You have a turbo swapped CRX vs built all motor CRX and at 3k with the wheelspin and craziness of the turbo crx the all motor one has the traction and is makin the "usable" HP.
