good quality shops in socal that do paint/jdm conv install?
pricewise on low end too please
Install involves majority bolt on and the remainder some welding work. So for the bolt on portion u can do it urself, but first u need to have teh jdm radiator support welded on, i know a place u can go to that did great work on my roomate's jdm conv. I posted about it before and mentioned him in the past. If you are serious about gettin the welding done by him just IM me and i'll give you his info. As for painting, that part you really get what u pay for and i don't think you could possibly have a better reputation than MOBworks.

thanks guys but there is some bodywork I need done to my car too. I was wondering if anyone know some mom/pops shops in san gabriel or el monte area that are cheaper. MOB might be good but I know I can get stuff done cheaper elsewhere since MOB overcharges atleast a grand for same work I can get elsewhere.
i understand your financial predicament, shoot i'm a starving college student myself, but be careful with ur choice of body shops. If they do a subpar job now and u end up having to get it fixed and redone down the line, then u just lost urself a chunk of money. So be wary about the decisions. And good luck with ur bargain hunt.

http://www.2020autobodytech.com or http://www.jtautostyle.com. If i was me, I'd go to 2020 since they dont only do the conversions and bodykit install and paint, they do insurance claims as well.

jt autostyle does terrible work. go to mobworks.
I've heard some bad things about jt, but most were in regards to their overusage of bondo in custom work. Their paint quality i wouldnt be sure about.

there must be some "cheap" places that do good work. I seen people spending 1000 on different paintjob and car looks great 2 years later still.
any comments on 2020 Autobodytech??? Okay, dont go to JT bodyshop then
you will probably better off in "One Day" auto paint

u have any personal experience w/ them? or friends who have personal experience w/ them? (btw: almost every shop does insurance claims. ie jdm front end.)

The reason why I said "Okay, dont go to JT bodyshop then " is because someone posted that they do bad jobs. I actually suggested JT and 2020. you need to start reading the posts before replying...it wont hurt

you were making it seem like they do insurance claims, which is such a great thing. when any body shop will do it. so YOU read the replies..and read who posted them..before you answer back with a stupid comment. [Modified by ALLMOTORDC2, 1:04 PM 1/18/2003]

wow! you must be really pissed off
I have the same problem, trying to find a decent shop who won't charge 300 to paint a bumper, but you don't want oragne peel and chips. The best advice to check out a car who had some paint work done and if it looks good, ask them where they got it done. Everyone on HT is always talking about MOBworks, I haven't been over to the shop yet, but I wasn't that impressed with their gallery of pics. STill looking for another reputable body shop in Socal..
