JDM ITRs has higher compression and comes with the OEM JDM 4-1 header, and I think a different exhaust system compared to the USDM ITRs

In Japan, they have 96Spec, 98Spec, and 00Spec Type R's.

The 96 spec has close to the same header as the USDM, I believe the bottom peice is different.

I bet he just can't drive.

96Spec also had a weaker brake setup and suspension.

96 spec had 4lug, smaller brakes, Different header, Lights, ex.
98 spec had 5 lug, larger brakes, 4-1 header, different gear ratio....

But ran similar or same 1/4 mile times, big difference is the braking power!

Info: BMI, Options Videos

The 96 pulls much better up high with different gearing, 98's seem to have great gearing in low gears.......Final Drive, 5th ex.

could just be the driver. The gear ratios are shorter in the newer 5 lug models in japan which should HELP him. You would know if it is japanese by the front end. does it have 2 round lights?

Jomo,

From this point on, please refrain from using the word "Jap" as an abbreviated word for Japanese. JDM (Japanese Domestic Market), or JP (Japan), or JPN are abbreviations that are more widely used. Jap is considered derogatory and do not like to be called that. I know you did not intend to offend anyone but just FYI

What is the 96 spec ITr running.....EVO's and Skylines. You guys have a lot of those on the Island right. The ITR would get its *** handed to it but a stock EVO, WRX, Skyline etc (Esp if they are from Japan).
